wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Day 1<\/strong><br>You are picked up by our tour guide. Today we visit the\u00a0<strong>National Museum<\/strong>. You spend the night in the yurt camp on the edge of the capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Day 2<\/strong>&nbsp;Drive<br>We are pciked up by our driver at the hotel and set out eastwards to the&nbsp;<strong>home of Genghis Khan<\/strong>. We drive to&nbsp;<strong>Khukh Lake<\/strong>, where the Mongolian general Temuujin was given the title Genghis Khan in 1189 and appointed leader of the Mongolian tribes. (B,L,D)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Day 3<\/strong>&nbsp;Hike \/ Drive<br>Today we go hiking, finishing up in the vicinity of&nbsp;<strong>Baldan Bereeven Monastery<\/strong>. You decide how long you want the hike to be. We can drive the rest of the way. (B,L,D)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Day 4<\/strong>&nbsp;Hike<br>Today we stay in this region. On our hike we visit the&nbsp;<strong>Baldan Bereeven Monastery<\/strong>, which was founded in 1784. It was destroyed in the 1930s and rebuilt after 1990. (B,L,D)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Day 5<\/strong>&nbsp;Drive<br>En route we visit the&nbsp;<strong>Wall of Uglugch<\/strong>, which was built between 10th and 12th centuries. A highlight of our day is a beautiful meadow full of edelweiss. We drive on to the&nbsp;<strong>Rashaant rock<\/strong>, where we see&nbsp;<strong>deer stones, inscriptions and rock paintings<\/strong>&nbsp;from different epochs. (B,L,D)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Day 6<\/strong>&nbsp;Hike<br>We stay in the area today and explore our surroundings on a hike. (B,L,D)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Day 7<\/strong>&nbsp;Drive<br>We head on to the&nbsp;<strong>town of Dadal<\/strong>, which is mainly populated by&nbsp;<strong>Buryats<\/strong>. This ethnis group of Mongolia speaks its own language and lives in log cabins instead yurts. (B,L,D)\n\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Day 8<\/strong>&nbsp;Hike \/ Drive<br>Today we take a tour to&nbsp;<strong>Deluun Boldog<\/strong>, said to be the birthplace of Genghis Khan in the Secret History of the Mongols. One theory has it that he is also buried here. Whether this is true remains a mystery &#8211; to this day, around 120 expeditions have failed to find Genghis Khan&#8217;s grave. (B,L,D)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Day 9<\/strong>&nbsp;Drive<br>Our next stop is the&nbsp;<strong>town of Undurkhaan<\/strong>, the centre of Khentii Aimag. Here we visit the local museum and observe the business transactions at the market. Then we travel on to our camp. (B,L,D)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Day 10<\/strong>&nbsp;Drive<br>Today we go to Huduu Aral, the site of the&nbsp;<strong>first Mongolian city of Aurug<\/strong>, where the&nbsp;<strong>Secret History of the Mongols<\/strong>&nbsp;was probably written. (B,L,D)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Day 11<\/strong>&nbsp;Recuperatio<br>Today is a day of recuperation, and you are free to spend it however you choose. (B,L,D)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Day 12<\/strong>&nbsp;Drive<br>We drive today to Ulaanbaatar. On the way we visit&nbsp;<strong>Genghis Khan&#8217;s Equestrian Statue<\/strong>. An evening&nbsp;<strong>concert<\/strong>&nbsp;introduces us to the delights of traditional Mongolian music. You hear the sound of the&nbsp;<strong>Mongolian horsehead fiddle and throat singing<\/strong>. Today we visit the\u00a0National Museum. You spend the night in the yurt camp on the edge of the capital. Day 2&nbsp;DriveWe are pciked up by our driver at the hotel and set out eastwards to the&nbsp;home of Genghis Khan. We drive to&nbsp;Khukh Lake, where the Mongolian general Temuujin was given the title Genghis Khan in 1189 and appointed leader of the Mongolian tribes. (B,L,D) Day 3&nbsp;Hike \/ DriveToday we go hiking, finishing up in the vicinity of&nbsp;Baldan Bereeven Monastery. You decide how long you want the hike to be. We can drive the rest of the way. (B,L,D) Day 4&nbsp;HikeToday we stay in this region. On our hike we visit the&nbsp;Baldan Bereeven Monastery, which was founded in 1784. It was destroyed in the 1930s and rebuilt after 1990. (B,L,D) Day 5&nbsp;DriveEn route we visit the&nbsp;Wall of Uglugch, which was built between 10th and 12th centuries. A highlight of our day is a beautiful meadow full of edelweiss. We drive on to the&nbsp;Rashaant rock, where we see&nbsp;deer stones, inscriptions and rock paintings&nbsp;from different epochs. (B,L,D) Day 6&nbsp;HikeWe stay in the area today and explore our surroundings on a hike. (B,L,D) Day 7&nbsp;DriveWe head on to the&nbsp;town of Dadal, which is mainly populated by&nbsp;Buryats. This ethnis group of Mongolia speaks its own language and lives in log cabins instead yurts. (B,L,D) Day 8&nbsp;Hike \/ DriveToday we take a tour to&nbsp;Deluun Boldog, said to be the birthplace of Genghis Khan in the Secret History of the Mongols. One theory has it that he is also buried here. Whether this is true remains a mystery &#8211; to this day, around 120 expeditions have failed to find Genghis Khan&#8217;s grave. (B,L,D) Day 9&nbsp;DriveOur next stop is the&nbsp;town of Undurkhaan, the centre of Khentii Aimag. Here we visit the local museum and observe the business transactions at the market. Then we travel on to our camp. (B,L,D) Day 10&nbsp;DriveToday we go to Huduu Aral, the site of the&nbsp;first Mongolian city of Aurug, where the&nbsp;Secret History of the Mongols&nbsp;was probably written. (B,L,D) Day 11&nbsp;RecuperatioToday is a day of recuperation, and you are free to spend it however you choose. (B,L,D) Day 12&nbsp;DriveWe drive today to Ulaanbaatar. On the way we visit&nbsp;Genghis Khan&#8217;s Equestrian Statue. An evening&nbsp;concert&nbsp;introduces us to the delights of traditional Mongolian music. You hear the sound of the&nbsp;Mongolian horsehead fiddle and throat singing. (B) Day 13Our time in the steppe has come to an end, and this is our last chance to explore the capital.
