Characteristics of the tours
On each of our tours you are accompanied by a English-speaking tour guide who picks up you in Mongolia and is there for you throughout the entire tour. During the tour you get the opportunity to experience the traditional nomad way of life up close. Our Mongolian tour guide will help you make conversation with the nomads. If you like you can ride horses and camels. You also enjoy the vastness of the Mongolian steppe, go hiking and relax.
Please note, that our tours haven been designed for flexible people with an adventurous spirit. We travel through very remote regions, and unexpected situations and route changes can arise. Only in Ulaanbaatar are good sanitary facilities available. The quality of hotels in Mongolia is not comparable with those in Europe. A tour through the Mongolian steppe offers you many interesting experiences and contact with the nomads, but it is also physically demanding. The trails in Mongolia are in very bad condition. The disrepair of some bridges may force us to use a ford to cross a river.
From the first day of the tour to the last we will spare no effort to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Entry requirements
Here you will find the list of countries whose may enter Mongolia without visa:
The citizens of all other countries require a visa to enter the country, which may be applied for at the relevant Mongolian embassy. If there is no Mongolian embassy in your country of permanent residence, you have the option of obtaining a visa when entering the country. However, we must apply for this in advance on your behalf from the immigration authority in Mongolia. We will help you with your visa affairs when you book a tour with us. Please note that your passport must be valid for at least six months after the end of your stay.
Insurances
The german legally prescribed travel security note is included in the tour price. This ist sent to you together with your registration confirmation. In addition to this we recomment obtaining travel cancellation insurance and travel health insurance incl. medically appropriate return transport to your home country.
Flights
We offer flights with Mongolian airline MIAT from/to Berlin-Tegel and Frankfurt. The Mongolian airline flies with Boeing 787s, 767s or 737s to Chinggis Khaan Airport, Ulaanbaatar. The flight price is based on the current seat bookings.

Accomodation
In Ulaanbaatar you stay in a basic or 3* hotel, depending on the tour. Every room has a shower and WC. By request you can stay in a single room or single tent. If another person travelling alone has booked your tour, you have the option to book half of a double room (1/2). If this is not the case, you must pay the single-room surcharge.
On tours on which you only stay in yurt camps, a yurt is booked for two persons. The yurt camps have shared sanitary facilities. There are no hotels outside the cities in Mongolia. Therefore, yurt camps are the most comfortable places to spend the night in the countryside.
Tours with staying in tents and in simple yurts have an outdoor character. The simple yurts are usually rented from the nomad families, and in this way you get to experience the nomad way of life up close. The number of yurts available is limited, therefore three of four persons sleep in these simple yurts, depending on the number of yurts available and the number of participants. Sleeping in tents allows you to experience the unspoilt nature and the quiet of the Mongolian steppe and desert. We provide the tents and sleeping mats. If you prefer to use your own tent, please let us know.
Vehicles and meals
Depending on the number of participants, we travel in one to three vehicles. We use minibusses that have been thoroughly tried and tested in Mongolia. The condition of the trails and the bodies of water in Mongolia can vary depending on the weather.
On tours on which you stay in simple yurts and tents, you will be accompanied by a Mongolian cook (apart from individual tours for 2-5 persons) for the duration of your stay in Mongolia (apart from Ulaanbaatar). There are three meals per day. The breakfast and lunch/pack lunch are similar to European cuisine, while dinner is usually Mongolian.
On tours in yurt camps, the meals are provided by the yurt camps. For this reason, we are not accompanied by a supply vehicle. These meals are similar to those in Europe.We also offer vegetarian food. To avail of this, please select the ,,Vegetarian” option and/or ,,Vegetarian on flight” on the registration form.
Booking and payment
Please send us your completed registration form by email, post or fax. A few day after we receive your registration form, we will send you your booking confirmation and your travel security note.
After you receive the booking confirmation, a down payment of 20% of the tour price is due within 7 days. The balance must be received by us at the latest 31 days before the start of the tour. If you have booked a flight with us, you receive your flight ticket and a comprehensive information brochure on Mongolia and the preparation for your tour approx. 3 weeks before your departure. If you have booked, you receive your tickets for the Trans-Siberian/Trans-Mongolian Railway when you are in Mongolia.
You can pay for your tour via bank transfer or credit card. We charge a fee of 1.5% of the total price payable for payments via credit card – Visa and Mastercard. For payments with American Express we charge a fee of 2.2% of the total price payable. When paying by credit card, please provide the relevant card details with your booking. For credit card payments, the balanca of your payment ist debited 7 weeks before the start of the tour. Short-notice bookings less than 8 weeks before the start of the tour cannot be paid by credit card.
